Getting involved in on-campus and off-campus community service projects is a tradition at Oklahoma State University. The SLVC’s goal is to introduce volunteerism as a way to bring together different groups of people on campus and within the Stillwater community.
Since the Center’s founding, thousands of civic-minded students, staff and faculty have acted to solve problems by offering their talents through active engagement with community non-profit agencies, public schools, medical service organizations and numerous other community partners.
How to Get Involved
Register as an OSU student volunteer online at Campus Link by filling out the OSU Student Volunteer Registration form.
Keep checking this blog for regular updates about volunteering opportunities, profiles of community partners, students’ volunteering experiences and more!
Once you’ve volunteered, you’ll need to record your volunteer hours on Campus Link on the Individual Volunteer Hourly Report Form.

Hello there! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a team of volunteers and starting a new initiative in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!
Thank you! Good luck with your volunteering endeavors!
Common Cause, Department of Corrections, Payne County Youth Services, Sierra Club, Parks and Rec are all places I am interested in volunteering, but none of them have very much information on what I would be doing as a volunteer. Any extra information you could give me would be great.
Common Cause:
You may expect volunteer roles related to Advocacy and fundraisers.
Department of Corrections:
Volunteer roles include research, data collection and entry etc.
Payne County Youth Services:
Volunteer opportunities include assisting with maintenance and repair projects at both the shelter and office locations and include gardening, landscaping, painting, window washing and assistance with special projects. For more details please visit http://www.pcys.org/information/
Sierra Club:
Sierra Club offers volunteer vacations. As a Sierra Club Outing Volunteer you team up with forest service rangers or park service personnel to restore wilderness areas, maintain trails, clean up trash and campsites, and remove non-native plants. For more details visit http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/national/service.aspx
Parks and recreation:
Volunteer roles include helping with events, pick up trash, painting, clean-up, yard work and more. Contact City of Stillwater for more information.
Hope this helps…!!! Thank you for your comment!
Thanks for the reply! Some of these sound pretty interesting.
